2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale

Ferrari saved its finest engineering and performance magic for the 458 Speciale, the fastest naturally aspirated V-8 model in the company’s history. The 458 Speciale combines stunning driving dynamics with highly polished controls, making it suitable for both the race track and public roads.

Key to the Speciale’s performance is a suite of modifications, many inspired by the LaFerrari supercar. Notable among these is the side-slip control (SSC) system, which calculates the car's slip angle and makes near-instantaneous adjustments to match the driver's inputs. This system works in tandem with Ferrari’s electronically controlled rear differential (E-Diff) and traction control (F1-Trac), providing superb reflexes without sacrificing ride comfort or usability.

At the heart of the 458 Speciale is a 4.5-liter V-8 engine producing 597 hp at 9,000 rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm, a 35 hp improvement over the standard 458. This is achieved through a 14.0:1 compression ratio and a series of engine modifications including new pistons, updated combustion chambers, revised intake runners, and a carbon-fiber airbox and manifold.

The Speciale is also 200 lbs. lighter than the standard 458 model. With a top speed of 202 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 3.0 seconds, this car represents the pinnacle of road-going Ferrari performance.
