2016 Porsche Cayman GT4

For the first time in 2016, Porsche’s renowned GT division applied its track-focused formula to the mid-engine Cayman, creating the GT4—an entry-level GT car that far exceeded expectations. Originally positioned just below the 911 GT3, the GT4 quickly proved itself as something far greater: a precision-engineered driver’s car with unfiltered performance and razor-sharp handling. Powered by a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six borrowed from the 911 Carrera S and featuring suspension components derived from the 991 GT3, the GT4 was far more than just a high-powered Cayman. With 385 horsepower, a six-speed manual transmission, and an aerodynamic package designed for maximum downforce, it could lap the Nürburgring just 15 seconds behind the GT3. More significantly, Porsche gave the GT4 something the GT3 lacked at the time—a three-pedal manual transmission—making it one of the most engaging and rewarding driver’s cars of its era.

With an original MSRP of $96,255, this example was well-optioned from the factory with desirable features such as full bucket seats, the Sport Chrono Package with the Porsche Track Precision App, a fire extinguisher, an extended range 16.91-gallon fuel tank, and 20-inch GT4 wheels. Beyond its factory configuration, this GT4 has been tastefully enhanced to further refine its already exceptional driving dynamics. A Guard Transmission limited-slip differential was installed in December 2023, complementing a set of GT4 2-5 close-ratio gears with a mainshaft, a transmission rebuild completed by Bill Rader Motorsports and installed by Porsche Colorado Springs in November 2023. A lightweight performance clutch and flywheel were installed in early 2023, sharpening throttle response and reducing rotational mass. In August 2022, Porsche Colorado Springs installed a GMG rear roll cage and GT3 harnesses, enhancing the car’s track-readiness. Additional performance modifications include a COBB V3 Accessport Tuner with Fabspeed ProTune, an IPD Competition intake plenum with a silicone Y-pipe, a Porsche OEM 82mm throttle body, BMC F1 air filters, and a Rennline throttle extension for improved heel-toe shifting.
