Description
In 2016, Porsche released a limited-run, wingless version of the 911 GT3 that came factory equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox and 500 horsepower. Allocations for that car were quickly sold out, and the resale price skyrocketed past the original MSRP as examples were whisked away into the climate-controlled garages of private collectors.
Fast forward two years: Enter the 911 GT3 Touring, a heaven-sent, second chance from Porsche to all of those that were denied an allocation for the 911R. Equipped with the same mechanical limited-slip-differential, Porsche Torque Vectoring system, and 4.0-liter flat-six as the standard 991.2 GT3, this was a wingless version with a mandated six-speed manual for those of us that prefer three pedals and that classic 911 rear end.
This 2018 example was first sold at Porsche of Beachwood, in Beachwood, OH in September of 2018. The car remained in Ohio and is reported to have been driven 4,600 miles until 2019, when it was sold to the second owner in Massachusetts. Under second ownership, this GT3 is reported to have been serviced regularly and driven to 6,700 miles. The car was offered for sale in 2021 subsequently purchased by the third owner in Colorado that same year. Under its third ownership, the car is reported to have been serviced regularly and driven to its current mileage. A full front Paint Protection Film and 70% window tint on the side and rear windows have also been applied under the third owner. A January 2023 service included an engine oil service, a brake fluid flush, and the replacement of the battery, as well as the spark plugs.
This 991.2 is finished in stunning paint-to-sample Mexico Blue and sits on 20” center-lock alloy wheels finished in Satin Aluminum with monochrome wheel center caps. The visibly discerning Touring Package in Black includes a revised rear decklid, a mesh grille, and a retractable rear spoiler in place of the raised wing from the standard GT3. Additional exterior adornments include clear side markers as well as the deletion of the model badge on the rear decklid.
The cabin is trimmed in Black leather and houses carbon-fiber full bucket seats with Porsche-branded rubber all-weather floor mats to line the footwells. Stitched in Silver Gray to match the optional Silver Gray seatbelts, the word ‘touring’ garnishes the seat headrests, and is complimented by color-coordinated Mexico Blue piping along the seat bolsters and special-ordered Houndstooth cloth seat inserts. Optional Black leather with a Brushed Aluminum trim extends to the gear shifter, steering wheel, door panels, and dashboard, and internal audio is powered by a Bose Surround Sound System with Voice Control. For additional cabin storage, a luggage net has been optioned in the passenger footwell. Also included for creature comfort was the Smoker’s Package, which, albeit not used for smoking, comes with the welcome addition of a 12-volt outlet behind the shifter.
A naturally aspirated, 8,500-rpm 4.0-liter flat six sends 500 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels, launching the car from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 196 mph. Power is reigned in by optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), and traction is maximized via 245/35 front and 305/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
An optionally equipped front-axle lift system ensures entry to even the steepest of parking lot entryways, and a 23.7-gallon extended-range fuel tank allows for canyon runs and backroad blitzes without having to refuel on your way to your local grocer. A full front Paint Protection Film has been installed for protection against road debris and rock chips, so rest assured - any mileage added by the owner will not come at the expense of the paint.
Currently offered for sale in Denver, CO, this 991.2 GT3 Touring displays just 7,720 miles from new and is available with the manufacturer’s literature, two keys, and service records.
Due disclosure: this car received minor paint repair on the front bumper and front hood as the result of a minor incident with another vehicle. Vehicle repair was completed by the selling dealership and all work was performed by a Gold Certified Porsche technician, using only Porsche OEM parts and materials to complete the repair.
