This 2023 Osprey Land Rover Defender is a custom-built example that combines modern engineering with classic Defender aesthetics. Powered by a 2.8L Cummins turbo-diesel engine paired with a manual transmission, this build emphasizes durability and mechanical engagement. A new chassis supports the platform, while rebuilt TDCi axles with front and rear disc brakes improve stopping power. A Terrafirma suspension system, including springs, shocks, caster-correcting radius and trailing arms, steering rods, and a steering stabilizer, provides increased ride height and improved off-road stability.  

The exterior is equipped with functional enhancements, including a black powder-coated roll cage, a rear swing-away tire carrier, and front and rear differential guards for added protection. A front skid plate, rock sliders with tree bars, and a front bumper with a bull bar further contribute to its off-road capability. LED lighting is used throughout, with smoked headlights for a modernized appearance. The Defender rides on ZU rims wrapped in red-letter General Grabber tires, providing additional ground clearance and traction.  

Inside, the cabin is upholstered in dark brown leather with cream stitching and accents, a design inspired by traditional British craftsmanship, with materials produced by Ruskin Design. The leather extends to the dashboard and door panels, maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. A wood rear floor and door contrast with the leather, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel adds to the interior’s classic character. The front seats are heated, and four matching jump seats are positioned in the rear.  

Technology and convenience features include front power windows, keyless entry, and a double-DIN infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a backup camera, and a premium speaker setup with tweeters, door speakers, and a rear-mounted subwoofer and amplifier. Factory gauges retain a period-correct look while integrating seamlessly with the updated drivetrain.  

Additional details include black aluminum door hinges, handles, and trim, as well as KBX-style front grille and surrounds with matching intake and wing-top vents. A rear tow bumper is fitted for additional utility.
