2023 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS

In terms of a balancing act, the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS walks a tightrope. Since 2009, when the first 911 Carrera GTS was released, it has slotted at the top of the Carrera trim range, just below the GT3. With more power than the Carrera S, lower sport suspension, brakes and center-lock wheels from the Turbo, the Carrera GTS was the best way to get more performance while still retaining more practicality and an optional manual transmission.

Now updated for the 992 generation, the Carrera GTS follows a similar formula: an optional 7-speed manual transmission, lower suspension, a louder exhaust, the Turbo’s brakes and center-lock wheels, and all of the sporty options from the Carrera S as standard. Performance is turned up via a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-six that produces 473 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Long story short - if you’re looking for a 911 that will run from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, handles like a Turbo, has a manual transmission, and rear seats, the 992 Carrera GTS is the one for you.
